Youth in Need South

Youth in Need South is a clinic started in 2009 made in partnership between IFM Community Medicine and Youth in Need Head Start Meramec Center operating on Thursday mornings and afternoons. The Head Start and Early Head Start programs are for children ages 0-5 in families at certain federal income levels. The federal government requires children participating in these programs to have a medical home, and the IFM Youth in Need clinic is an accessible option for over 700 children in the program and their families. Many of the patients IFM serves at this clinic are immigrants and struggling families requiring physicals, screenings, and vaccines. The majority of the patients seen are under five years old, though the Nurse Practitioner will see older family members as needed.
